Mick Ebeling: The invention that unlocked a locked-in artist | Video on TED.com

Great Video and what people can do when they put their minds to it.

The nerve disease ALS left graffiti artist TEMPT paralyzed from head to toe, forced to communicate blink by blink. In a remarkable talk at TEDActive, entrepreneur Mick Ebeling shares how he and a team of collaborators built an open-source invention that gave the artist -- and gives others in his circumstance -- the means to make art again.

My heart still aches when I think about the earthquake in Japan, I was there for the first time in November and was real sad to leave. Miss the great Sushi, enjoy the video and check search my other Japan videos on my Channel www.youtube.com/philinbangkok

Canucks poised to make more history

Friday, 04.01.2011 / 10:02 AM / Inside the Numbers
By John Kreiser  - NHL.com Columnist
The Vancouver Canucks are enjoying the greatest season in franchise history. They've already clinched their first regular-season title since entering the NHL in 1970, and they'll have home-ice advantage for as far as they go in their quest for their first Stanley Cup.

But the Canucks also are just 10 days away from making history.

The Canucks enter the penultimate weekend of the season having scored the League's most non-shootout goals (249) while allowing the fewest (172). Finishing first in scoring goals and preventing them is something no team has done since the Montreal Canadiens in 1976-77 and again in 1977-78 -- the only two times a team has led categories since expansion in 1967.

Dating all the way back to the institution of the 70-game schedule in 1949-50, only three franchises ever have had the best offense and stingiest defense. Montreal has done it eight times -- including all five seasons from 1955-60, when the Canadiens won five consecutive Stanley Cups. Chicago was tops in both categories in 1966-67, the final season before expansion, but lost its first playoff series that season. Detroit led in both categories in 1951-52 on the way to the Stanley Cup, and again in 1952-53, when the Wings were beaten in the semifinals.

Sorry to see it go -- The Canucks were sorry to see the calendar turn to April -- they had the best March in franchise history. The Canucks finished March by beating the Kings 3-1 on Thursday, giving them a 13-2-0 record, the most wins they've ever had in March -- their previous best was an 11-2-2 mark in 2006-07. In fact, it's the best month in franchise history -- the Canucks never had won 13 games in any month.

Why I Wear a Vancouver Canucks Hockey Cap Hat - Phil in Bangkok

http://www.PhilinBangkok.com http://www.Canucks.com Quite a few viewers from around the world have asked me about my Canucks ball cap hat I wear. As you may notice I am from Canada, born and bred so Hockey is in our blood and stick in our hand when we arrive in the BEST Country in the world, rated #1 year after year. Which brings up another question people ask "If your country is so great why aren't you there?" A couple of things firstly as much as I love Thailand and other Countries I have visited or lived in, my heart is will always be for Canada. The one reason why I chose to live abroad is 9 months out of the year as much as I love my country the dark(shorten daylight) grey rainy weather plays havoc with my S.A.D Seasonal affective Disorder http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder which makes me sad. Seriously though it really kills me and being a solar boy need my sun and light (people in the nothern hemisphere's understand) to give me energy and life. Another reason is I love to Travel and be an ambassador of sort to my country while travelling as so many positive feed back from people I meet but so many misconceptions as well. One thing especially in Asia when I say "I'm from Canada or I'm Canadian" is I get the " but you Asian?" way too often. Even in this day and age many people think Canada is all white (maybe all the snow helps) Asian people in the US don't get this so much for some reason. So here my identity is lost among the crowd in Thailand people think I'm Thai, in Singapore I'm Singaporean....so on. Ride with me on the Skytrain or Bus in any Asian city and just watch when I answer the phone and start talking, everyone stops stares and looks at me. I guess its the same if you saw a Indian guy with an Irish accent or an African guy with a Russian accent. People don't really understand that your accent of your voice is your identity. Canada's colours may be Red (Natives) and White (Colonizers) but really it has been always multicoloured. My name may be "Phil in Bangkok" but "I am Canadian!"
