BBQ @ Doorae Korean Food Restaurant Sukhumvit Plaza by Asoke BTS - Phil ...

http://www.MakeMoneyGettingSkinny.com http://www.IMInfoBlog.com http://www.PhilinBangkok.comhttp://www.PhilinVancouver.com
For the first time I go to Korea Town at Sukhumvit Plaza by Asoke BTS Station, there are about a dozen Korean Restaurants there and an Italian one.
Doorae was recommended by a friend and glad we went there as the whole dinner was great. I found it interesting that the staff do all the cooking for you at your table, I eat out everyday and was actually looking forward to cooking LOL
I really loved the sauces and chili to put with meats in the lettuce biting in the explosion of flavor was a symphony playing in my mouth. The Kim Chee was very fresh and delicious along with the potato salad and salad. The squid was cooked perfectly and the sauce was awesome. The Kim Chee Tuna soup was very interesting as I thought it would be mostly Kim Chee taste and the tuna flavor drowned out but I was wrong it was the perfect balance and very tasty. Check out Doorae and enjoy the food and the process making it

How to Create iPhone Apps

Creating Better Content Could Be All The Spark Your Blog Needs

If you are an active blogger, you are probably doing everything you can to drive traffic. Those of you new to the game are probably building backlinks, blog commenting, on twitter, building facebook fan pages, social bookmarking etc.. This is all great and is something I take part in myself. Ever so often though I take a step back and look at what I am really accomplishing. All of these things take time, could your time be spent better elsewhere? I think so, I think it is time that people rededicate themselves to content creation.
It is easy to get caught up in something like Twitter. It is almost like a video game. Your quest is to engage people and get them to follow you. The only problem is I have seen people use it so voraciously that they forget they need content to direct their followers to. What good are five thousand followers if you have nothing to offer them? Next time you find yourself spending an hour on twitter, think about how much more effective a new blog post might be. You don’t have to keep up with every tweet, just log in when you can and join the flow. Make a deal with yourself; don’t log into Twitter until you have a new blog post up, then when you jump into the conversation you will have something to share.
Social Bookmarking is another potential time sink. I know people that will submit to every bookmarking service you can imagine. Digg, Stumbleupon and Reddit I totally understand. I even get why people use Mixx and other semi-popular services. It is when people start getting into sites like Nujij, BobrDobr, Mr. Wongs and etc… that I start to wonder when diminishing returns sets in. In the time it takes you to do all of that social bookmarking could you be creating more content? Instead of submitting to every single social bookmarking site, maybe it is more helpful to submit to just the big guys. Then you can spend the rest of your time creating content that you can once again submit to them.
I really think people sometimes lose site of the important things. Promoting your blog is without a doubt an integral part of being a blogger. Traffic rules, right? In my opinion, the quickest way to traffic is through more content. More content means promoting your site is easier because you simply have more to promote. Instead of five articles receiving Digg traffic, you can have 50. Every blog post you make has the chance to go viral or rank in the search engines as well.
Take the time to reevaluate the results you are getting with your promotion. If you have hit a plateau then it is time to up your content, not your promotion. Give it a try and see how effective rededicating yourself to content creation can be.

Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep Mountain Top Temple Chiang Mai Thailand - Phil i...

http://www.PhilinBangkok.com http://www.PhilinVancouver.com
Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep (Thai: วัดพระธาตุดอยสุเทพ) is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The temple is often referred to as "Doi Suthep" although this is actually the name of the mountain it is located on. The temple is located 15 km from the city of Chiang Mai and is a sacred site to many Thai people. From the temple impressive views of Chiang Mai can be seen and it remains a popular destination of foreign visitors.

History

The original founding of the temple remains a legend and there are a few varied versions. The temple is said to have been founded in 1383 when the first chedi was built. Over time the temple has expanded, and been made to look more extravagant with many more holy shrines added. A road to the temple was first built in 1935.

White Elephant Legend

White elephant shrine
According to legend, a monk named Sumanathera from Sukhothai had a dream; in this vision he was told to go to Pang Cha and look for a relic. Sumanathera ventured to Pang Cha and is said to have found a bone, which many claim was Buddha's shoulder bone. The relic displayed magical powers; it glowed, it was able to vanish, it could move itself and replicate itself. Sumanathera took the relic to King Dharmmaraja who ruled the Sukhothai.
The eager Dharmmaraja made offerings and hosted a ceremony when Sumanathera arrived. However the relic displayed no abnormal characteristics, and the king, doubtful of the relic's authenticity, told Sumanathera to keep it.
However, King Nu Naone of the Lanna Kingdom heard of the relic and offered the monk to take it to him instead. In 1368 with Dharmmaraja's permission, Sumanathera took the relic to what is now Lamphun, in northern Thailand. The relic apparently split in two, one piece was the same size, the other was smaller than the original. The smaller piece of the relic was enshrined at a temple in Suandok. The other piece was placed by the King on the back of a white elephant which was released in the jungle. The elephant is said to have climbed up Doi Suthep, at the time called Doi Aoy Chang (Sugar Elephant Mountain), trumpeted three times before dying at the site. It was interpreted as a sign and King Nu Naone ordered the construction of a temple at the site.

Stairs to Wat Doi Suthep
The wat can be reached by road from Chiang Mai. From the car park, at the temple base visitors can climb 309 steps for free to reach the pagodas or there is a tram.[2] Entry to the temple on the tram costs 30 Thai baht for foreigners (or 50 baht if you would like a two-way tram ticket included) and is free for Thai nationals.
Once inside the temple grounds; visitors must take off their shoes. Visitors must be appropriately dressed. The original copper plated chedi is the most holy area of the temple grounds. Within the site are pagodas, statues, bells and shrines. Aspects of the Wat draw from both Buddhism and Hinduism. There is a model of the Emerald Buddha and a statue of the Hindu God Ganesh. Views of Chiang Mai can be seen on the other side of the temple.

http://www.PhilinBangkok.com http://www.PhilinVancouver.com
Well my quest for Fish and Chips has brought me here, my friend Craig suggested it and now so do I. Must admit the homemade pies were very tempting but the piece of Haddock I had was heavenly, cooked perfectly with a great batter covering the fresh fish. I went there at around 1:30pm just to miss the crowds, noticed they did a fair number of take aways while I was there. Do make this a stop if you are in London and you will be happy you did, tell them "Phil in Bangkok" sent you.

Offshore Fish & Chips Soi 23 Sukhumvit by Soi Cowboy Asoke BTS
One of the oldest F&C's in town, The Offshore Fish 'n' Chip shop was opened to feed the drunken foreign workers and of course offshore men stumbling across from the adjoining bar of the same name, there actually is a door between the two places.
Its a simple Ma and Pa type shop with no frills, but regulars customers still swear that you won't find a better batter anywhere.

Costing 220 baht for Cod and Chips or 170 baht if you order the local red snapper instead, most customers drop by for a takeaway order standing at the stainless steel counter while their meal is deep-fried.

Then, depending on how late it is and how drunk you are, the allure of Soi Cowboy await around the corner ;)

Rent Hobie Cat Pattaya Beach from www.Thai-Sail.com Go Sailing - Phil in...

http://www.thai-sail.com http://www.PhilinBangkok.com
Thai Sail was established to provide the best in beach sailing experiences in Thailand.
All of their boats are the world renowned Hobie Cats, and all are under 2 years old.

The boats are based at Pattaya City Windsurfing Club on Jomtien Beach.
The boats are available for bareboat rental for those who can sail. They also provide sailing lessons for those who would like to learn to sail.
The boats can be delivered directly to your beach resort for longer rentals.

Catamarans are inherently stable, and with sealed hulls Hobie cats are virtually unsinkable. The asymmetrical hull shape eliminates the need for dagger boards, making the boats easy to beach. Many customers rent the boats by the hour to enjoy the excellent sailing conditions in the Gulf of Thailand. However some customers take the boats for extended periods, for exploring the many deserted beaches and islands in the area. For longer rental periods, the boats can be delivered directly to your beach resort.

The large fully battened and boomless mainsail provides plenty of power in a light breeze, making the boats exciting for experienced sailors, yet simple and safe for a novice to sail. The boats can easily be sailed by one person, but are US Coast Guard approved to carry up to 4 adults or 6 on bigger Cat
